Wireless Facilities - sponsored by Microsoft Research

During ACL Coling Wireless Internet will be available to delegates in all public spaces (with possible restrictions in the rooms used for presentations).. The wireless network provided will be 802.11b/g standard with no port restrictions. Network bandwidth will be capped at 200kbps per user to maintain quality of service. Improper or inappropriate use of the network may result blocked network access. Please DO NOT use the network for Voice over IP telephony (VoIP) or peer to peer file sharing, since these applications consume a great deal of bandwidth. Our contract with the service provider means that excess usage will result in throttling back.

Thanks to work by Veselin Stoyanov and Yejin Choi at Cornell University, we now have an HTML version of the ACL-Coling conference program available, which includes convenient links to each paper abstract from within the schedule guide. Also available is an HTML version of the poster program, with thanks to Eric Breck, also at Cornell University.

Close of Early Bird Registration

Early Bird registration deadline is midnight Wednesday 31st May time in WESTERN USA i.e. you will be given the longest possible time to register as early birds.

This means that we will actually close early bird at 5pm Eastern Australian Time on Thursday 1st June which equates to midnight Wednesday 31st May West Coast USA.

The website will be changed at that time to prevent overruns. After then, you have until midnight 30th June West Coast USA time to register as standard, non-early-bird delegates.

The ACL/HCSNET Advanced Program in Natural Language Processing has been announced.

This is a one-week event held at the University of Melbourne in the week immediately prior to the COLING/ACL (i.e. 10-14 July). It will consist of advanced tutorials on major topics of current research interest in NLP. The material will be organised around four themes: NLP/IR; probabilistic parsing; lexical semantics; and discourse & dialogue.

Twenty ACL Scholarships are available (deadline: 1 May).

Online Accommodation Booking is now available - you may book flights and rooms within Australia for as long before and after the conference as you like, so make a holiday of it, bring the family. Plenty of information already available on the website re the venue, Sydney, Australia, accommodation options etc.

We hope to have online Registration available in early March - stay tuned.

Authors are strongly recommended to use the style files provided for their submission. Formatting requirements and submission instructions are contained in the sample files.
